D.A.R.E.
The
Drug
Abuse
Resistance
Education
Program is provided by the Ottawa Hills Police Department in Cooperation
with the Ottawa Hills School
System.
D.A.R.E. has been established in our community since January of 1996,
and it's succeeding. The goal of the Ottawa Hills Police Department's D.A.R.E. program is to be the foundation for drug prevention
education throughout the community.
The main curriculum is currently being taught at the sixth grade
level by Ottawa Hills Sergeant Jim Knallay. Visitation programs
are available for K - 4th grades at the Elementary School. D.A.R.E. has
expanded into the Middle School and High School.
Ottawa Hills D.A.R.E. officers are active in the
D.A.R.E. Association of Ohio.
Ottawa Hills also assisted in the growth of D.A.R.E. in Ohio
by helping to train D.A.R.E. officers from other communities.
