OTTAWA HILLS POLICE DEPARTMENT MISSION STATEMENT
The
mission of the Ottawa Hills Police Department is to preserve the peace and order
of the community through conflict management and enforcement of criminal or
quasi-criminal laws by officers who are committed to the rule of law and have a
unique authority to investigate, arrest, search, seize, and use reasonable and
necessary force.
This shall be conducted to and for those requesting or requiring
our services in a humanistic, moralistic, legalistic and ethical
manner to provide a safe environment for which to live, learn, work,
and grow.
The Ottawa Hills Police Department, in partnership with our community,
is dedicated to preserving the peace and quality of life in the
Village
of Ottawa Hills, a community of approximately 4,500 residents in northwest
Ohio. The police department is comprised of 15 full-time employees and
an additional 11 part-time employees.
The Ottawa Hills Police Department hosts a variety of crime
prevention events throughout the year, including a summer bicycle rodeo to
promote safe cycling with the village youngsters and a Safety Village program to
teach preschoolers a variety of safety tips including "stranger
danger."
We also host, in conjunction with the
Ottawa
Hills Fire Department, an annual Halloween benefit for area children.
The Police Department, in cooperation with the
Ottawa
Hills Local Schools, also participates in the nationwide D.A.R.E.
program. |
